How many tanks before we are labelled crazy?

Ok, guys, I have just been and bought my 4th tank, only a 5 gallon hospital or for fry rearing, but my other half says I'm mad, lol, who else has multiple tanks? I'm sure at least 75% of fish lore forum members will probably have at least 2? right? or maybe more than half a dozen? please tell me I'm normal, and that I only have MTS lololol, and nothing else, hahahaha who agrees? more tanks equals a whole lot more fun

Usually once you go beyond 2 or 3, people are like "You have issues." LOL

But I don't care! More tanks definitely equal more fun!

I have 8. You have a ways to go before it's crazy.

well I have a 10G, two 25G which are joined but can be said its one but it's actually two, two sets of tests each time, separate filters and heaters lol, and my little 5G, that's it lol, I don't think this is obsessive, ? ? ? ?

ah see I feel a whole lot better now, hahaha thanks guys

At one point I had 8 tanks running. Now I only have two. The maintenance became too much work. I used to have more free time to devote to aquariums.

I actually got a huge tank for the goldies and then was going to sell the two they were in before, but then I got to thinking...

I was up to 11 for a while. Down to 4 now. People thought I was crazy when I got the second one.

I truly think those that don't get our ''addiction'' are those who have never had a tank..... because one really does multiply very very quickly

I just put in a perspective they can understand. Everyone has a hobby, everyone does something different witn their money. Some guys spend thousands of dollars on rare stamps or a classic car, I(we) choose to spend it on wet pets.

Only six are running right now, but we have 13 tanks . We went from 1 to 13 in less than a year. A few are small tanks that may never get used again though, maybe for shrimp.

Currently 23 tanks, and over 10,000 gallons in ponds.
3 years ago, I was at 200 tanks plus the ponds.
I hope to be back to about 75 tanks by this summer.

I have a 120, a 55, a 15 and two 10's. Moved a bit of furniture around in my office to fit in another one.... tee hee!!! I would much rather be 'fiddling' around with my fish and tanks than glued to the couch watching television. My goals is a 250 gallon.... maybe this year. Once I got my first tank, a 75 gallon I knew I was hooked for life. There was no going back and I love having MTS!!!!!!!

Sleep is for the weak and cowardly.

Which is why I am down to 23 tanks.

Working 40 hours a week and maintaining 200 tanks is just not possible.

The person who was supposed to be helping me, stopped doing so.
So I sold off the majority of my stock and downsized.

oh yes MTS is great, my family keep making jokes how I should just fill my house with water and add the fish, or just put glass around the north sea pahahahahaha

you know that saying, Dino, ''if you want anything doing, do it yourself'', so very true, i'm sorry you had to downsize however 23 tanks is still quite impressive

I had up to 8 bettas at one point, so 13 active tanks. Now I am down to 3 active tanks. Even with my new tank being set up, it will be replacing the other big (29 gallon, haha) tank and so I'll still be at 3. I'm working on improving my timing for water changes, water tests, etc. before increasing. And well, saving money so I can move out of this place and move somewhere I can have a fish room. Super excited about that being in the future!

See, the way I look at it is this, if hubby can have 6 cars, then I can have all the tanks I want!
(Yup, he's the crazy one, not me)

That makes for a problem for me, as I have the cars, the trucks, and the tanks lol

I freely admit I stole (paraphrased) that from Worf off of STNG.
Except he was referring to volley ball.

Are you referring to the member here that was your partner in the fish house endeavor? I read his Fishlore magazine spotlight. I'm sorry to here that :-\

Yes, that is the person I was referring to.
He is no longer involved in my life in any way.
And I am better off for it.

Sorry to hear that. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'm sure you got some valuable life experience out of it.

After all, Santa is very wise you know

I have a 20gal. community and a divided 10gal., so 2. Oh, plus the QT. And the 1quart canning jar with plants and snails that sits next to a window. Maybe I should add my sister's 2.5gal. that I pretty much set up for her?
My mom banned aquariums in regular living spaces, so I'm limited to bedroom dresser tops, thus rather small aquariums... otherwise, she likes the idea of a 55gal. with tetras and discus, but she's waiting for the grandkids to grow up (and stop being born, there will be 4 new ones between last year and this year alone). I kinda hope she gets tired of waiting.

I have 11 tanks running and 5 tanks empty. I am hoping to sell the 5 empty tanks as I am running out of plugins.LOL. Many think I am crazy. My tanks are mainly smaller,so I don't have as much gallonage as some of the other crazy people so I am not as bad.
