Thought I would make a poll for this because I was thinking about all the fish I have owned in my short time in the hobby and wanted to see what others have had. This is a total number of species, current and past.

If you want, you can make a reply with a list of species you have kept.

Heres my list...

Albino Aeneus Corydora Catfish (C. Aeneus)
Bumblebee Catfish (M. iheringi)
Otocinclus Catfish (O vestitus)
Pictus Catfish (P. pictus)
False Upside Down Catfish (S. nigrita)
Albino Gold Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.)
Clown Pleco (P. maccus)
Rubber Lip Pleco (P. aurantiacus)

Schooling Fish:
Cherry Barb (P. titteya)
Tiger Barb (P. tetrazona)
Zebra Danio (D. rerio)

Black Skirt Tetra (G. ternetzi)
Lemon Tetra (H. pulchripinnis)
Neon Tetra (P. innesi)
Serpae Tetra (H. callistus)
White Skirt Tetra(G. ternetzi)

Live Bearers:
Dalmatian Molly (P. sphenops)
Gold Dust Molly (P. sphenops)
Green Lantern Platy (X. maculatus)

Some of the fish you've listed are the same species, so are you calling different varieties different species for the poll?

Red Tailed Sharks aren't catfish btw. They're Cyprinids, like Barbs and Goldfish...

I thought they were catfish because they have [albiet short] barbels. Okay then...

I understand that the molly, platy, skirt tetras and rams are color/pattern morphs of the same species. I would consider them different for the sake of this poll. Likewise for an albino vs non-albino, or a tiger barb and a green tiger barb, etc.

EDIT: If you want to be specific you can use scientific naming. Up to the individual I guess.

They have barbels like koi...

I haven't counted up my "species kept" for years. I'd have to look through the atlas and make lists.... in my young years I tried to keep everything just because I hadn't kept it yet.

I went through my list and added scientific names to them all so I got 26 unique species if you weed out the color morphs.

Just saying about the scientific name of the harlequin rasboras (not a big deal) I thought they changed to trigonistigma hetromporha not rasbora hetrmorpha

You are right. I just looked at the wrong source. Thank you.
