i've heard cory from aquarium co op say that he puts in 200 rummyrose tetras in his 40 gallon breeder and so was wondering if this applied to silver tips.

my silver tips are also super active/ aggressive is it because I only have 9 of them? should I add more and how many?

thanks!

Yeah, well he has auto water changes and is very experienced. It's probably not something everyone could do. If silver tips were the only midlevel schooling fish in the 40 gallon I'd personally keep 20-30.

Yes, usually higher numbers disperses aggression. Silvertips are known to be a bit nippy. What else do you have in the tank?

Do you know that roseline sharks (denison barbs) are schooling fish too, and belong in groups?

What are the dimensions of your tank? Denison barbs get fairly large and if housed in a proper school need a 4ft long by 1.5ft wide aquarium. You may want to consider rehoming those.

my tank is 35.5 x 17 x 18.5 inches. would you still recommend rehoming?

Ultimately that's up to you. You might find it helpful to read up on their requirements to see if you think you can provide them with a good home. . A LFS would probably take them off your hands.
