How Many Ramshorns To Feed A Pea Puffer?

HI guys!

Happy halloween!

I will be getting a pea puffer for my 5 gallon tank as soon as my LFS has them so I wanted to know as much about them as I can. Ive been breeding ramshorn snails in my community tank (well, I bought 2 last month and put them in there and the rest is history, now I have the bulk of them in a breeder tank of their own and some in my betta tank, some left in the 20g) so I have a food source but I wanted to know:

1. How many ramshorns do I feed one pea puffer per day? (Probably gonna do a twice a day feeding sched so however many you guys recommend, I'll just half)

2. Can I keep anything else with him/her theoretically speaking in a 5g? (I know it depends on the individual fish but I want to know what has the strongest likelihood of being a good tankmate)

Thanks guys!

I guess it would depend on how big the snails will be when you feed them to the puffer, though I definitely think 2 a day would be over feeding... I'd do 1 a day while the puffer is young and one every second day when it is fully grown... though it'll depend on the snail sizes

You shouldn't feed puffers snails bigger than the size of their eye. If the snails are to big they can damage their beaks trying to crack open the shells, or they will find a way to get the flesh out without getting the benefit of cracking the shell.
Best indicator for how much food to feed them is watching their bellies (not based on their appetite, they are total pigs!). The belly should be nicely rounded but not bulged. 2 times a day isn't excessive if you aren't giving them big meals, just be sure to keep up on your water quality as they can be pretty messy eaters

Pea puffers don’t crack open the shells.
They just suck the snail out of the shell,
