How many pygmy corys in a 20 gallon?

gabray47

I currently have a 20 gallon freshwater tank with anubias nana, giant hairgrass, and java fern. I am now ready to get fish, and I really want a single species tank with pygmy corys. How many can I comfortably and safely have in a 20 gallon? I have no goal number, I just want them to be comfy and happy.

If this is a 20 long you can safely have 20; if this is a 20 high i would go for 10 to 15. Also they enjoy a *lot* of plant cover.

I'm putting the java fern in the corners so they have space behind them to hide. I've got them attached to lava rocks so I can move them. The anubias are towards the front, so they'll have the middle part of the tank behind those. I'm hoping for now that is enough.
