I just got a new 20 gallon high. I'm really in love with Honey Gouramis. I plan to have plenty of plants and places for them to hide, floating plants and everything. I'm thinking of having honey gouramis (Trichogaster chuna) and maybe red cherry shrimp. According to AqAdvisor, with my tank dimensions (23.75 x 12.25 x 16.25), 6 honey gouramis and 10 red cherry shrimp would give me a stocking level of 79%. I would like some human opinions. Are there any unforeseen problems with this stocking? Is that too much? Also, the tank I bought comes with a corner filter for 20 gallons. Would it be good to get a second filter (probably a sponge filter)? The one I have is Grreat Choice brand, model GF800, probably not a super great filter according to reviews. Anything else that would make the future fish more comfortable? I want to give them the best home possible. It's going to be quite a while before I can get the actual fish, and I want to be thorough.
