How Many Fancy Goldfish In A 90 Gallon?

I have a 90 gallon tank that is fully cycled, Ive had 2 fancy goldfish in there for about a month, I got them as babies so they are still pretty small. I’m just wondering how many would be good for the tank, I’m thinking like a max of 5. I currently have the sunsun 304B canister filter with 525gph filtration, and I do about 35-40% water change every week.

I'm no fancy goldfish expert, but there's a stocking rule that goes "20 gallons for the first goldfish and 10 gallons for every additional goldfish."

I like to go with swimming inches over "per gallon" rules. Think about the height and depth, I mean, that's their whole world there. I feel like less is more for giving them good swimming space to explore and stretch their beautiful fins. Goldfish use every part of the tank, not just the bottom or top like some types of fish. I'm aiming for 3 in my 75 gal and then I'm quitting! So maybe max out at 5 (depending on the variety)

I agree with Thee ladyG, consider the size of the tank, but also the length. A 90 gallon does not provide that much more room then a 55 gallon. But I think that at least 5-6 would work
