How Many Bags Of Fluval Stratum For 30g Breeder

I usually ecommend 1-2 pounds of substrate per gallon. So that would be 30-60 pounds. This (to me) is a lot to spend for a planted tank substrate. Also, if it’s in a breeder, bare bottom would make it a lot easier to clean. If you wanted a less expensive option, you could use potting soil and top it off with a 30 lb bag of normal gravel.

Its a breeder tank but I'm not using it for breeding it's going to be a planted tank I think I'm going to keep the sand I have in there right now because there is no nutrients and add a bag of ADA aquasoil on top

Ok. If you, wanted to do that, 3 bags should do the trick for a nice cap.
