I have 3-4 ghost shrimp in my 35 gal fry tank and 2 of them are carrying eggs. How long will they carry them:;dk? They look like little green balls that they juggle with their legs.

Those are definately eggs... and it varies between 15-25 days (it depends on water conditions and temp). You also need to remove them... sadly ghost shrimp will eat their babies... if you have a floating breeder box put the parents in there and as soon as they hatch put the parents in with the rest of the tank...

    Goodluck on being a parent!

I have red cherry shrimp and the time they carry eggs varies on the size of the female, usually my big girls carry them for 25-30 days, whereas the younger girls carry for about 20. However, the cherries don't eat their babies, so I'm not sure in this area.

I was just curious, I am not even sure there is a male in there to fertilize the eggs........
