Provide hiding places. Hornwort and other bushy plants will do, but fake plastic vines with leaves for reptiles will also do.So what should I do to keep the other females and the Berra from eating the fry?
Should I just get a big like storage bin and make a cheap tank for the mother for until she gives birth so I don't have to worry about the other fish? I know the mother can still be almost cannibalistic to her children but I would still provide hiding places.Provide hiding places. Its still kind of stressful for the mother to be moved close to when she gives birth, and that might also lead to stress, abortion of the fry and probably absorbing them.Should I just get a big like storage bin and make a cheap tank for the mother for until she gives birth so I don't have to worry about the other fish? So keep the mother in the tank. What should I do if the other fish try to pester her whilst she is birthing? I will take some plants from my 30 gallon and put them in the tank. Its still kind of stressful for the mother to be moved close to when she gives birth, and that might also lead to stress, abortion of the fry and probably absorbing them.
She would probably hide in the plant when they do it, and there's not much you can do anyways that's less stressful to her then leaving her alone. So keep the mother in the tank.
