Hi. I'm going to pair my guppies up for breeding tomorrow and I'm wondering how long I should leave them together. They are living in a divided stock tub right now with males on one side and females on the other (check out this thread if you want to see). I'm planning to put my pairs in a breeding net for breeding. I want to leave them in long enough to breed for sure but I don't want to leave them for so long that the female gets super stressed out. How long should I leave them for?

It doesn't take long!!! Males are pretty efficient, and can usually get the job done within minutes of introductions, especially if there isn't a lot of extra space around.

I think leaving them together for an hour or two ought to be sufficient, but you could leave them for 24 or 48 hours if you want to be 100% certain that they're properly "introduced".
