How Long Should I Keep My New Fish In A 10 Gallon To Grow Before I Move Them To My Main Tank?

So, I've ordered some new fish, and they're going to be about 1-2 inches each. I have a 6 inch African Knifefish that could possibly eat them. I have a 10 gallon QT tank set up, and I was wondering how long an approximate time before they get stunted, or how long it will take for them to be big enough not to be an easy meal. The fish list is below.
2 Sumo Loaches
1 Featherfin Catfish
2 Yellow Tail Spiny Eels
1 Dwarf gourami
1 Angelfish

Welcome to fishlore!
that 10 gallon is way too small for all those fish. DWarf gourami and angelfish aren't compatiable btw. I'd probably buy a another aquarium maybe 30 gallon too split the fish between. How big is the aquarium your african knifefish lives in, they can grow a foot

The Knifefish's aquarium is 45 gallons, and I have a 55 I can move him to when he gets larger. The 10 gallon would only be until the fish are large enough not to become food.

Ok keep in mind you may have to upgrade further. Why don't you qt in the 55 gallon then? You'll need to rehome the dwarf gourami or angelfish though

The 55 has a sun cat in it, about the same size as the knifefish, but with a bigger mouth.

I would get a tub (rubbermaid, sterilite) to use as a QT tub, possibly two. I used one for a quarantine tub and it worked fairly well. It was around 20 gallons, but they do have them larger than that and they are inexpensive. I just used sponge filters and a heater.

I don't really have anywhere to put a tub like that.

Nevermind, found a perfect tub in my closet. 40 gallons, and it has a lid.

is it food grade?

I think it's just a storage crate from walmart. I filled it up, and I'm going to make a makeshift lid (It came with a lid, but it doesn't let light in).

If its not food grade some of the chemicals from the plastic will leach into the water and kill your fish

Wow, glad I haven't put the fish in yet. I'll improvise, thanks for the advice.
