How Long Should I Fast Him?

Hi, me again. Oil's bloated! I noticed he's a bit rounder in the stomach, in comparison to last week. He's not constipated, because I witnessed him pass a rather large load earlier. Anyway. How long should I fast him for him to slim back down?

 

2-3 days, you can also feed him daphnia. it'll help with the bloating

I shoot for 3-4 days, but the bloat has generally been gone afyer 2 days. Certainly isn't a set thing

That is a good plan going forward. One thing that can help as well is a lot of people will usually have a day of fasting every week for their bettas and often times other fish as well. I used to do that for my bettas until one started throwing a fit and biting his tail everytime it was fasting day.

 

Yeesh! I'm hoping Oil doesn't resort to that... He puffed up when I called him chubby. Lol. I've fasted him last week and he seemed to fare well! So I will go forward with weekly fast days, and variety in food (probably brine shrimp to help with digestion). Thanks for the help!
