I plan to get a JD soon and he will spend the early part of his life in a 29 gallon tank. His only companion will be a 4-lined pimelodus that is already in the tank. When, as in at what size, should I move them to their final 72g bowfront home?

I have no idea what the other fish is, but for the JD, I would move it around 5 inches.

5, maybe 6 if you're really paranoid about him being too small for the 72. No clue what a pimelodus is though.

Cool thanks guys. I was thinking about 5 inches myself. I want to make a 3D background on the 72g and still need to gather supplies (mainly driftwood) and still need to buy an FX4.
