How long does a molly pregnancy last?

I have a pregnant molly fish. There are a lot of questions I have, some just for curiosity reasons and others so that I can provide the best care possible.

How long does a molly pregnancy last? Also, how long is left of the pregnancy when the molly starts showing?
This is also the mollys first pregnancy so is there a usual estimate of how many fry she will have on the first delivery.

I want to keep the fry and the molly lives in a community tank with fish that are large enough to eat the fry easily. They all explore a lot and so would find hiding fry, meaning I’ll have to take the pregnant molly out to deliver. I have a 52 litre tank prepared for this. However, I dont know when to move her into there

Also, what are any signs of labour I should look out for. She is a black molly with a gold face and so a lot of signs I can’t see on her

I just got a couple of black and gold mollies, and my female was already pregnant when we bought her. Apparently, the gestation period for a molly is 50-70 days, or 2 months. And as soon as they have their babies, they'll start mating again. My molly had babies days ago, and already she is showing from being pregnant again. It's good to have a separate tank set aside so she can be placed in there when it is close to time for her to have babies so you can put her in there. If I were you, I'd put the female in the tank at around day 30-40 just to be sure. Once she has babies, you can put her back in the other tank or else she might eat them. Who knows when it'll happen. Trust me, it makes it a ton easier.
One day, my molly up and had babies in my 15 gallon tank with plants and all and it took forever to catch all of them. I wouldn't have known she even had them if I didn't see one hiding behind the filter! I didn't receive much of a warning. She swims all around, but she'll probably go lower in the tank and in between the plants and you'll see them just pop right out. They even swim down into the rocks to hide. You can get a breeder box to have in the tank as well if you're worried she'll have babies and eat them while you're away. One that the mother can be in when close to giving birth that can allow the babies to escape from it as soon as they're out, but not her. They also love a lot of places to hide in case you don't have a breeder box in time. Plants, rocks that have room for them to wiggle in or under, just things with a lot of little spaces where other fish can't reach.
Here's the thing, although my molly had about 10 (and probably ate a few, so now I have 7), mollies can have 10 to 60 babies at a time (based on what I read. Of course, anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong). It depends on how large their bellies are. My molly's belly with 10 or so babies was somewhat large, but not too much bigger than the male. Others can be huge! A huge belly, my bet, has at least 20 babies.
I hope this helps!

Do you have any idea at what stage they start showing a bulge? I have no idea how far along my molly is, I just looked in one day and she looked pregnant

Did you notice her looking like that the few days before? If not, she may not be very far along. Maybe a few days to a couple weeks. A picture of her may be able to help to see just how big she is.

The problem is, I have a big tank and quite a few fish and so I may not have noticed for a while. I just looked at her yesterday and noticed that she was quite plump.
here are the best pictures I can get of her

She had her babies! I count at least five but maybe six. They’re hiding.
Thanks everyone for the advice and information
