im going to be going to the store to pick up some java ferns for my tank how long can they live in the bag for cause i work closes so i would have to buy them at 8pm and get home around 3am would they survive? petsmart does put water in the bags and that. maybe i can ask for them to put 2 plastic bags on them?

Plants often get shipped wrapped in nothing more than wet newspaper, they should be fine for that time period as long as you don't let the water in the bag get very hot or very cold.

Kind of depends on the packaging for long periods of time but 8 PM to 3 isnt really much. The plants should do just fine.
