I needed something to start the cycle on my ten gallon while I wait for some lyretail killifish eggs, and I also wanted a new goldfish for my pond. How long will it take a 1.5 inch shubunkin to outgrow the tank and be ready to meet his 8” buddies? I know they’re pretty dirty fish and like their room.

The tank has been sitting in direct sunlight for a couple months growing algae(for the super super tiny killifish fry to hunt for infusoria in) and has a 6” ball of java moss& snails, so it should be ready for a fish to complete the cycle.

Yes, it has a double sponge filter that has been running since I set up the tank. The java moss is also out of another cycled tank.
