How I made DIY fish food crisps out of Repashy!

Hey all, I hope everyone's doing well! Today I decided to make my own DIY fish food crisps out of Repashy Meat Pie! I mix this up every few weeks for feeding the fish as well as Kiwi (who I haven't introduced to Fishlore yet)! Unfortunately I've been messing up with the recipe to where too much water is added. I really didn't want to throw it away and waste it so I decided to try something else! Baking the Repashy Meat Pie! Here's the recipe:

-Mix 2 parts water with 1 part powder to an even consistency that looks a bit like raw cake batter (yum!)
-Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet, making sure to line it with parchment paper beforehand (otherwise it'll stick!)
-Place your baking sheet with the mixture on the top shelf of your oven, to ensure it bakes evenly (you don't want it to burn!)
-Set the oven to 350°F, or about 176°C, allowing it to slowly heat up with the mixture inside (this prevents it from burning the top of your mixture!)
-Once the oven reaches 350/176, set a timer for 10 minutes (it shouldn't take any longer than 15 mins to bake completely!)
-Take it out after the desired time, and use a knife to cut it into even strips! You can use these as is for hand-feeding larger fish like Oscars, chop it into bits for smaller fish like Bettas, or completely pulverize it for fish fry! Most fish LOVE these crisps, gobbling them up like tiny potato chips!

Hopefully this helps anyone with the same issue as me! This recipe is cheap and easy to obtain, and quick to make! Your little aquatic friends will surely love them! Let me know what you think, if you're going to try this recipe, how it turns out, and how much your fishies love them!

Here are pics of the before and after!

Clever idea, how quickly does it soften once in the water?

l to found the recipe to be misleading with the volume of water and dry ingredients.
I have made something very similar using the hot summers sun in Australia not an oven . After a few hours in the sun it was very dry.

Both “bottom scratcher” and the “green “ Repashy are falling apart after 2 or 3 minutes in a cup of tank water.

Great question! I personally soak the food for about 3-4 minutes. It doesn't break apart completely but some "crumbs" will fall off. It doesn't soften to its original state (gel) but enough to where the fish and inverts can enjoy it! It stores for much longer than the gel as well!

I agree with you, and personally I notice the same thing when you add too much water. Sometimes the "gel" will just completely disintegrate when added into the tank! I don't like this since some fish can't eat it the small bits that fall to the bottom, which then stay on the bottom of the tank and can fowl the water, or can even lead to algae problems (since algae is attracted to ammonia). Water changes need to be performed, and the cycle continues. Plus I feel it's kind of cruel to the fish who think they'll be getting a tasty treat, but instead they just smell something delicious that they're unable to find. It's like if someone was baking a delicious apple pie but you weren't allowed to have it. This is why I decided to try and bake the gel that had too much water added. I didn't want to waste the food and just and toss it into the bin, but I also did not want to add it into the tank and let it disintegrate. It's been working well!
