How I clean rocks

A lot of threads talk about boiling rocks. Boiling rocks can be dangerous because they can explode.

This is my own method.

I soak for a good week in a plastic bin or tub. The water gets replaced a few times or I sit out in rain all week.

I give the rocks a good rinse on high spray with a hose.

Then I scrub w/ a grill cleaning brush, wire brush works great.

Give rocks a good wash over w/ hose, and done.

Hmmm I wonder if the higb pressure hose would work on a rock that is currently algae ridden.

Are these rock ones you have found outside or bought at a pet store, either way it sound a lot easier and a lot better than boiling rock in my crab steamer

High pressure hose would be good, as long as there's no soap. ?

I think you mean you don't know if you want anything capable of exploding in your tank, yes? It's only while boiling that rocks could explode. If there are cracks and fissures in the rock, the heat can make the rock expand and possibly explode. Hopefully, your tank will never get that hot.
