Can someone please help me determine how close or far these females are. These are my first females and I’m trying to relocate the male to a smaller (5 gallon ) tank temporarily while the females go into labor. He keeps bothering them and I don’t wanna make the move too soon because he gets really stressed out in that tank. I’m sorry if this is begging for help or moderately annoying, but I really want this to go well beings though I haven’t done this before. Also sorry for the bad quality. They move a lot, and I had to put down food for them to be remotely still. Thanks again

their spot is darker without the poor quality, but they should only be about 7 or 6 days along. Does that look along right ?

I don't think they're very far along, if even preggo at all. The further along they get, the blacker the gravid spot (spot behind stomach) gets

In a 10 gallon. And no clue, from a local pet store.

Agree with the above. About another 3 weeks.

Wait a minute...those are females?

I bought what I thought was a male guppy from Pet Smart, and it has the exact same coloration and fin shape. It has an enlarged belly, and has been isolating itself in corners. It also been eating weirdly and swimming weirdly.

What if my guppy is female and I didn't realize it...that would be insane..

From what I’m reading up on and people are telling me-... I think ur fishy might be pregnant. I’ve heard that when they go into labor, they isolate themselves so they can have their fry. And if they’re swimming weirdly, they might be having contractions. And some females from petstores can be bought already pregnant. Especially from petco and petsmart.

It all just clicked when I saw OP's fish. Looks just like my fish. I googled the difference between males and females and it was apparent I was sold a female by accident. I didn't want a female cause I really have no way to take care of fry aside from...well killing them. However I really like my little guppy so I think I'll find another way to handle it.

My guppy is bloated too and has the exact same bulge that their fish has...
