These days I seem to have a habbit of acquiring picked on uglu or injured fish. I don't know how it happened, I walked into the fish store with no intention of buying fish! "I'll just see what's new..." I told myself. I'm a sucker for guppies, so it was straight to the back of the store where they kept the livebearers. Before I could make it there I found myself staring at a tank full of 40 or more 1 inch long healthy looking silver dollars. In the same tank at the top corner under the jet whas a tiny little anglefish. Its ventral fins and tail were chew up but didn't look roten. It's body was paper thin, but seemed free of parasites and infection. Still standing there I thought to myself, maybe being the only angel in the tank it was just out competed for food and nipped on for trying? Before I could realize what was going on I threw $6 at the counter, and was back at home looking at a floating bag in my quarintine tank. That was about 5 days and lots of baby brine ago. My question for everyone is, how do you think the angelfish will grow? The fish's body is smaller than a dime, and the fish store had no idea how old it was. Do you think the fishe's color will stay? or will it change? I have never personally seen a coloration like this, so I really hope it stays as the fish matures.
