How do you do a betta Epsom salt bath?

Fiercebettas

I have seen two ways of doing it and I am unsure of what one to proceed with
I have a betta(3-4 years of age) who's sides are pineconeing and belly is swelling, I just bought pure Dr. Teals Epsom salt and kanaplex
I can do salt baths today but kanaplex is arriving in 2 days

Ways I've seen
1tbsp per gallon, have 2 cups, one you can accumulate him in and the second is the actual salt bath. slowly ease him out of the bath When the 10-15 minutes is up

2 tsp per gallon, same directions, keep him in 10-20

Is there anything I need to know before I do this, I'm afraid of not knowing if he is reacting badly to the bath

This is him, he is still moving and eating, idk if I should feed him though
Oh and, I've also seen someone use the same water from the tank instead of new water. Should I do that?

I would use some tank water if fit is an option. Other than that i think either way is fine.
