How do I trim this plant?

I'm not 100% sure what this plant is, it hitched a ride on some other plants I ordered, but I think it's "Nymphoides hydrophylla Taiwan".

It's gotten huge and is blocking out a lot of light, but since it has clear leaves on top I'm not quite sure how to trim it back. I don't think I want to cut all the leaves off do I? Do I trim some off and thin it out? Cut off the bottom and replant some of the leaves?

I assume that you cut the leaves from the base. I would say you thin it out and the leaves that you rim will grow back. I am not sure about replanting.

Haha well I'm about to have plenty of extra as I thin it out, I could ship some out for a few bucks in shipping if you wanted some lol. It has really taken off and grows quite fast now, like part of my tank is almost totally dark.

That would be awesome! Idk if my parents would allow it though. I’m only 14.
