How Do I: Thank Someone within a Post - DISABLED

Mike

When reading a post and you find it helpful, thank the person posting the information. Just click the thank you button on that member's post and it will create a box under that post with your member name thanking that person. I like this plugin. You don't have to create a new reply just to thank someone.

Why are the thanks being tracked? Just curious.

It's like the reputation system that many forums have, but without the negative aspect. The names are displayed, of course, so you know who thanked you. And you can see how often a particular person has been thanked.
When I am new to a forum, this kind of system helps me figure out who to listen to for advice and for cues on the ins and outs of that particular forum. Someone with a good reputation (or a bunch of thanks in this case) has been around for awhile and has posted a lot of good information to get that reputation or thanks, so they're probably a good "role-model" for that forum.

The system has failed. It isn't there anymore.

I think it was one of the reasons for the slowness. Might enable it at a later date.
