How do I read KH/GH chart?

I’m confused how to use this chart.
my KH was 2 drops and my GH was 8 drops. According to the chart, does that mean my KH is 2 and my GH is 143.2? I’m not sure I understand the last column because it is labeled “ppm GH/KH”. Which one is that column measuring? GH or KH?

Hi ferg42995
I believe there are two ways of measuring both GH and KH .
One is the German system of degrees = *dKH
The other is Part per million.

We can use one or the other but don’t need to use both.

My town talks in the language of PPM.

Unless I am mistaken your GH is 143 ppm
and your KH is 35.8 ppm

If your town speaks in the German system the GH is 2 degrees and the KH is 8 degrees.

Perhaps this chart helps a little?

Its suggesting that guppies for example need between 100 ppm -200ppm GH.
OR if you use the German system guppies need between 6 - 11 degrees GH.

If I am wrong I apologise . I am sure someone will set me straight.

For what it's worth your water is very good for the majority of commonly available aquarium fish and most plants, so no need to stress over it!
