    Hey all-

My boyfriend recently bought me some bamboo from his pet store as a gift and it’s around 2 ft tall and swirly at the top. I was thinking of putting it in my HOB filter but have absolutely no idea how to go about it. It’s planted in this little plastic pot like most bunch plants are in fish stores, but I’m not sure if I should take it off or not? It won’t fit inside the filter with the pot on, but I’m afraid the roots will get damaged if I take the pot off... At the same time, would it be better if I just had it planted directly inside my tank in the background? Thanks in advance

    That would be lucky bamboo.
I would take it from the pot, and place it directly into the HOB filter.
You can plant it in the water, I would be sure to keep the top of the bamboo exposed, the leaves aren't aquatic.
