How do I help my cories protect their eggs?

One of my cories is laying eggs right at the top left-hand corner of the tank, and the angelfish keep bullying her out of the way to eat them. It's really stressing her out and they are bullying her.

What does she need from me to help her keep them safe? It seems like such a weird place for a bottom-dweller to lay eggs.

By putting her in a seperate tank.
BTW she might eat her own eggs as well

Stressful - Yes. The usual breeding behaviour is stressful anyway.
Bullying - no. Besides the fact the term bullying is completely out of place with fish, your angelfish are simply interested in that food source.

By putting her in a seperate tank.
Either that or offer cover within the tank. That spot points to the tank otherwise not being suitable for the fish to spawn.

You only mention a female. No males around?

Really? Ok cool. Moving them *really* freaks them out and I'm treating the tank for ich at the moment so trying to minimise their stress.

I've actually put a glass jar in there. Big enough for the cories to get in and out but not the angels. We'll see if it helps?!

Hey um. Corys will happily eat their own eggs. Zero maternal instincts whatsoever

Hehe well that's ok - they're allowed to eat their own eggs! But this female was FLIPPING out whenever the angels went near them so I wanted to try to reduce any stress if I could.

Doesn't really matter though cos my baby BN zipped over and finished them all anyway. Sigh.

There is plenty of cover in the tank and that's why I started this thread as I was so surprised that she would lay eggs where she did. There are some in another top corner too. It's a very large tank and there are many places where the eggs would be far safer. I've tried to recreate the preferred environment for the various species in there.
.
The cories are all albino and there are eleven of them. They're about 18 months to two years old. I think that most of them are female.

I had increased the temperature of the tank as part of the ich treatment and it set off a frenzy. Gawd, the angels went berserk, and the cories did too. Things have settled now, to a degree.

But the ich treatment is going extremely well ;)

A few nights ago one of my Peacock Gudgeons was laying eggs on the silicone seam in the corner of the tank. The male didn't have a cave to dance in front of, but he was doing his wiggling in the corner of the tank. She apparently got the message. As soon as she layed them, he ate them.

This is how they learn to be successful at it, by doing it wrong. Likely they learn that's not a safe place to lay eggs and coose a different one next time, also likely that won't be a safe place either and they are learning they have to pick better spots. Give it time.

Good idea. I've also had success just by adding the java moss. I had t remove it from one tank because I was getting too many White Cloud Minnow fry and there are no predators in there.
At least 50% of the reason I got angels was to take care of the guppy and platy fry. They're very helpful!

I have a school of White Clouds too, I love love love them and would love more - maybe I should get some java moss :)
