How do i get enough aeration

So I have an HOB filter that is staying on my aquarium until my canister filter is fully seeded, but I realized that once I remove the power filter, I have no aeration as I don't own an air stone, and I don't like the look of the bubbles. How can I provide sufficient aeration for my fish while also only using a canister filter.

Never used a canister but doesn't it have a return line that you can point towards the water line to agitate it?

I felt the same way about an air stone! I always thought it made a column of fine carbonated type bubbles. But I set one up yesterday. I set the flow real low and put it behind a fake plant. The bubbles are a little bigger than expected and I am happy with the look.

Yeah, it does. Will that be enough for surface agitation?

I think it would be. Pretty sure that's what most do is turn the canister return towards the surface. Like I said I have never used one myself

Does your canister come with a spray bar? That is one of the reasons I use canisters- the spraybbars can be adjusted to cause surface agitation.

No it doesn’t, the canister filter is the fluval fx4 which just comes with a output tube split into two outputs

Why not run both filters?
