How do i delete an old thread?

Is it possible to delete an old or unwanted thread or are they burnt into cyber space forever?

the threads which I closed, they were all on the same thing so I just closed them and left one going but no one seems to be responding in that. if you don't have time to delete these old threads its fine cause there are about 4 and I don't want to waste your time unless there is a way which I can do it.
