I last used my siphon to try to suck bloodworms out of my now deceased betta’s tank because he didn’t eat them. He died of cottonmouth & I have to clean my other betta’s tank & I’m not quite sure how to decontaminate the siphon, which I’m sure I’ll need to clean my betta’s tank tomorrow. I’m really worried about spreading that terrible, heartbreaking disease over to my healthy betta. How do I clean it? Or is there something else I could use to get rid of the waste in the gravel?

What siphon is this? I would flush it out with hot tap water, possibly even some vinegar if you want. Then rinse it well.

If my fish are healthy i just rinse it out. If i just did a sick fish tank i would use hot or boiling water and let it air dry. (Well always dry it)

Yes, of course! I don't usually rinse mine, it's just fine how it is.
