How did Everyone Come up With Their Username?

Well Dee is my name and I went with dippy because it sounded better than 'dumbdee' and I changed the y to ie for no reason at all.

Started off as my gamertag now it's my username for literally everything and it's never taken

 

I am an intorvert, I'm either not talking at all for hours or I'm rambling (or I don't want to be talking most likely, I'm not even exaggerating), so some people are surprised when they hear me (I'm usually just ignored in true INFP fashion) and then they just look at me like they're thinking "Wow so many wasted words." And so I think " CARP ignoring me was way better just never speak to me or look at me again. " That is what I think after nearly every time I talk to anyone in any form. Gah just nevermind ignore me because obviously I'm annoying and you didn't understand my weird ramble about this obscure subject anyway.
Summary: I don't really do small talk well. And thanks for bearing with me if you've had to endure one of my rambles.

 

I almost went with my online gamer name, used it since '99 in UO, but decided to go a different route. Thought about using my MOS or something like that, but decided otherwise. Almost went with the name of one of my animals, but thought that would be hard to look at if something happened to said animal.

So I decided to start from scratch. I tried like 3 usernames that were all taken. Don't remember what they were. Then, I thought about how so many people call their other kinds of pets their furbaby....this is a fish forum...so aquababy seemed fitting.

See title. Mine is my old AOL screen name and I used it when I was just a lurker with no plans of sticking around. Now that I've been here awhile I want to change to something better but I have no idea what! How did you guys pick your usernames?

I want to hear from everyone but coralbandit I'm tagging you specifically only since it was asked in that podcast, and it made me curious too lol.

I chose coralbandit as I had marine tanks and few things were not stolen from the ocean when I started .
That and it was wordplay with coralbanded [shrimp ]..
Today I am coralbandit everywhere I go !

I just saw this, this thread is really interesting. I always thought jkkgron2 meant something, but it's just random letters. I got my user from my equal love for Rams and angels. And then I also really like appistos and other SAC, specifically the dwarf ones.

 

Guess mine is pretty self explanatory, no imagination needed. I am originally from Germany, and Fisch is the german word for fish.

 

High School nick name without the number, of course. Apparently my actual name was to "weird" to say. Whatever that means.

 

Tiktaalik was actually a type of extinct lobe-finned fish, and considered the ancestor to tetrapods! I love lobe finned fish (coelacanths, lungfish) and tiktaalik is also a fun word. Apparently it's the Inuit word for burbot/lingcod! So I chose it for my username

I combined my love of music with my new love of fish. I was lucky enough to grow up in the grunge era. Normally I am Shangrila….but I wanted to give a plug out to my sweet betta man so I’m motherlovebetta after Mother Love Bone. I hope someone on here knows who that band is!

Mine is just my initial and last name, not very interesting. On a couple of other forums I am Mazan, which is the name of the river that borders our land, not sure why I didn't use that on this forum. And on one that I joined a long time ago I am Oso, because at that time (and for many years) we ran a rescue centre for spectacled bears....(oso is bear in Spanish).

 

Interesting Thread! Here is how I got my two Fishlore names;

CheeseHoarder was the first name I had on this forum. I love cheese (As if that was not obvious enough)! Cheddar, Mozzarella, Colby, Parmesan, Asadero, Queso, Havarti, Muenster, you name it! I ALWAYS have a stash of cheese to eat on the go, hence why I was known as a CheeseHoarder at one time.

JLAquatics is the current name and more fitting for this forum. JL is my initials, I thought they would look nice together and catchy in a design. Aquatics is added because when I changed my username I began having multiple tanks instead of just one. Who knows, if I get enough aquascapes and planted tanks setup in the future I may change it to JLAquascapes instead.

Total sucker for 90s grunge music. Pearl Jam has always been my fav Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell sound exactly the same in person as they do on the radio.

There are so many usernames that I am curious about the stories behind them.

My username NearMeBettas is based of my Gecko educational and sales business which I named Near Me Geckos so it would show up in search engines, especially when someone searched gecko for sale near me. Now I've done the same with my fish.

I had a g on the end of keeping but the name was too long and when you read replies my name would be there but a g would over hang...

so changed it to remove the g. PeterFishKeeping to PeterFishKeepin
