How Deep To Plant Jungle Val?

Hi! So i'm still quite a beginner when it comes to plants. I was wondering how deep to plant jungle val into the sand, and if it would rot if I planted it too deep? Is there a crown or rhizome that I should not be planting, like the amazon sword or anubias? Thanks!

Hello
You really don't have to worried about how deep Jungle Val go, it grows completely submerged and roots should be deeply plant in the substrate. It is commonly used in aquariums with fish known for digging, since its deep roots make it very difficult to dislocate. Vals are incredibly hardy, and can adapt to most water conditions. With that being said, they are one of the few plants that prefer hard, alkaline water and may experience slower growth in soft, acidic water. They are also one of the few plants that can tolerate brackish water, though this will negatively impact their growth rate and propagation.

I wouldn't worry about how deep you're planting them.

If you're planting them in sand definitely use some root tabs. Vals are heavy root feeders and prefer a nutrient-rich substrate. Once stabilized they send out an expansive root network and grow very quickly even in lower light conditions.

So even the white parts of the stem where the roots come out of? I assumed you couldnt plant this part of plants because of the amazon sword

Ooo okay! I'll buy some the first chance I get! Thank you so much for the tip!
