I have been trying to get my water read for fish and I teated the water today and it is at

PH:8.4
Ammonia:1.5
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:0

Is there anything I can do to lower the PH and ammonia. All I am using right now is prime and Jacks aquarium and pets Bio-Boost. Any help is appreciated.

Do a 50 percent water change to lower the ammonia. Are you using a dechlorinator?

Adding wood to the tank can help lower the ph, and it seems like your tank needs to cycle longer for the bacteria to start turning the ammonia into nitrite, then nitrate. Try adding some plants too maybe? So that when the ammonia is converted the plants will use the nitrate for their own food.

Can you give us some more info? When was this tank set up? What is your ammonia source? How large is this tank?

Your tank needs to go through the nitrogen cycle which can take up to 12 weeks.

Edit: Also, why do you want to lower the pH? Most fish would do fine at just about any pH value.

Seachem Prime says it removes chlorine and chloramine.
