My albino bristlenose male, Lucky is 5 1/2 inches from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail. There is a picture of him in the pleco forum entiled Introducing Lucky my male ABN. I don't know how to move to here. I also have two females, An L144 blue eyed lemon pleco , Buttercup, who is about 3 inches long and over a year and a half, and a blue eyed yellow ancistrus, Bella, who is the youngest one at about a year and she is about 4 inches. They are my favorite fish. Alison

I'm really not sure, we bought him at this size. He's in a tank with aggressive cichlids so we figured a larger one would be better. I do know that he was raised in an outdoor pond. aliray can probably answer better than me.

Mishka is about 6 inches and he turned 13 this year. From personal experience I found that Mishka grew like crazy until he was about 4 inches and then his growth really slowed after that.

How fast did he reach 5 inches? And anyone know if the sex determines size?

I don't know if the sex determines the size. I had 2 females that were really small at 7 months old ( I think ) and they were in my QT tank with a male ( also around the same age as I bought all 3 together ) Well after being in the QT tank, the male mated with BOTH the females and I ended up with 60+ babies ( I have since rehomed the 2 females and I have 3 babies left that are 5 months old now )
The male that I kept is only about 3 inches long and is relatively "skinny" at being a year old now.........

As for my pleco that's 5 + inches, I think he's been like that since 4 + years old????? I don't exactly remember

I'm the other way. I prefer no -albinos. When I was raising commons amd selling them to the lfs, some guy wanted an albino. He wasn't my fav pleco but I got him to 5inches and then gave him his new home. Guy loved it.

Saifins get up to 18 inches long, Too big for the average tank. Males are usually an inch longer than the females 6 inches and 5 inches for the standard colors. The albino BN's usually are an inch shorter than the standard colors but can get as big. sometimes. Alison

Standard. They look mottled when they come out in the day, it's to camouflage them.
