Housing Rainbow Shark with Mollies??

Hey all! My albino rainbow shark (about 5' long now) has quickly outgrown her 40 gallon breeder tank. The tank is fairly heavily planted and I plan to move over a good amount of them (mostly the sword plants) to the 75 gallon I plan to purchase. She is currently housed with 1 dwarf powder blue gourami, 1 dwarf flame gourami, 1 coi angelfish, 1 pearl gourami, 5 boesemani rainbowfish, 4 mystery snails, and 1 vampire shrimp. She is pretty passive towards them all, except she mainly chases the powder blue gourami and the male boesemani rainbow fish during feeding time if they are in her section of the tank. I feel this aggression will fade away once they all have more room.

Anyways, one of my mollies in a separate 20 gallon tank recently had some fry, and I feel the 20 gallon will be too crowded as the mollies keep multiplying. Once I get the new 75 gallon cycled and ready to add fish, would my rainbow shark get along with fully grown mollies? I haven't seen many results on the web about housing these two fish together.

Considering the Rainbow Shark is getting along fine with the current stock, I think it & the Mollies will do fine together in a 75 gal.

This is a huge relief, thank you!

Changes in the environment may trigger aggressive behavior. It is temperamental fish. A large volume with a territory for him should help.

That makes sense, I figured there would be a slight increase in aggression at first since they all will be establishing new territories. Would it help if she was the last fish to be added to the tank?

Just make sure to provide plenty of hardscape for the Rainbow Shark and things should be fine.

I doubt adding her the last will make a big difference because the others you have are not territorial, but it can't hurt to try. As A201 said, with hardscape and plants, it should be fine in a tank of that size.

In a 75 gallon it will probably be fine. If you do notice aggression, I'd reccomend even just adding a few fast swimming fish like zebra danios or something so that the aggression is spread out.
