Hood Help

Hello

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 29 gal. tank. The hood is an hard plastic (acrylic) hinged type with the light sitting on top. Well, I was cleaning my tank tonight, when all of a sudden the little (I don't know what to call it really) the thing that holds the hood. :-\ You lift it up. Feed the fish. Close it back up. Well anywho, the little thing snapped off and was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sells the hoods without the lights?!? I have tried searching Petsmart, Petco. Nothing really came up, but the whole shabang. My other LPS doesn't have a website. I don't want to buy the whole thing, just the hinged hood that just sits ontop of the tank.

ANY help would be appreciated!

 

good question... have you tried craigslist?? I usually find someone who has the stuff I need!!!

I would start with the place you bought the hood from and ask if they sell individual parts from the hood.

 

If I recall, the little door slides in and out of a little joint so I bet it will just snap back into place.

 

Mosin. That's just it. The little joint piece snapped off. So there is nothing to snap back into with.

I'm still searching. It's been a while. I think I will just have to break down and buy a new one. Maybe keep the old one as spare parts or something. *shrugs* Who knows. Will keep ya updated if I find something.
