Honeys head?

Honey has a tiny pale patch on her head that started last night, it's at the top of her gill and looks like a TINY pin hole. It is a very small area. Ideas on what it could be?

I don't think it would show on a pic as so small.

It could just be her color...Bettas can change color pretty quickly. It could be Ich...does it look like a white grain dropped on her? Or it could be the beginnings of a bacterial, fungal, or protozoan infection. If she isn't acting sick, then I would just watch her to see if any more symptoms develop. If not then she's probably fine.

betta mommy alert! .. yea, they do change colors at times and we've worried about spots like that too, only to have them fade away or never have any problems arise from it. if you can check with a magnifying glass closely, it's also possible that a scale or 2 has come off.

Hey, I was thinking of something that's probably really silly, but as magnifying glass would require the fish to not move around too much, how about binoculars from really far across the room. No? Ah nevermind.

HAHA

I have used a mag glass, started to months ago ( I believe that was the point at which my dad decided that I and the mother had finally lost the plot!!!)

The patch hasn't changed at all overnight and she is still fighting fit. As you have all realised I am a worrier!! Especially where animals are concerned as they can't tell you but because 'blue eyes' had an ulcer on his head I freaked.

Flame aka Flambo isn't a happy chappy today, he noticed his reflection yesterday and keeps flaring and sulking! poor little guy

So, NOT a good idea - binoculars?

Am a worrier for pets too. I hate that they can't say: 'it hurts right there, it's started 2 days ago after I ate that dodgy flake you gave me'

ours will often come up to the glass to be talked to so that's when we look at them with the magnifying glass. if that's not happening, a little treat can get them into a spot you want.
