Hey guys. Can you help me ID the sex of these honey gouramis?

The guy at a store said one was 90% a male, and the other was 50/50 for female.

    Female?

The male seems to “chase” the female now and then but not constantly. The female also seems to be very interested in her reflection and using her “whiskers” to attempt to feel, what she thinks, is another gourami.

First could be male from the color in the fins and the pointed dorsal. Can't see critical points on second fish to be able to sex it.

Yes, I'd say it does look female.

    Awesome! Thanks.

Now the next question I have is, is this coloring the traditional honey gourami or is this a color morph such as golden/yellow honey gourami? I noticed the traditional honey gourami photos seem more diluted color-wise until they get into breeding mode. However, the yellow morph seems to have a constant yellow hue that just gets extremely amplified for breeding.

I was using this site for comparison.

Yours are Gold morph, normal females are brownish with the stripe down the side.

Ahh alright. Is this a natural variation or was it genetically made? I definitely like it a lot better if it is natural haha.

Oh ok. So it shares all the same traits of the traditional just has a different color? Peaceful, likes groups, etc

    Yes to me it does.

    Awesome! Thank you @DoubleDutch

I definitely prefer the gold honey over the traditional.
