I just thought this was too cute not to share. My male honey gourami has staked out the betta log for his own (I thought my baby betta was a female but grew up to be a male- so far so good). Anyway, he and his bride, LemonHead, think it’s great! Surely fry won’t survive in my community aquarium, but I’m glad to know they’re happy.

Keep your eyes on them, its REALLY not recommended to keep Bettas and Gouramis together.

That’s a good point - I know they occupy the same space but my tank is 29 gallons. I have an extra tank setup just in case

I wondered if other fish would use the Betta log. I definitely want to get a Betta log now!

Right now I have two males and 3 females in a 75 Gallon tank and two Betta logs on opposite ends of the tank. The boys have set up their territories but the other fish (tetras ) could care less about the logs- but the males LOVE them! Sometimes the females like them too!
