Honey gourami bullying?

Dan1984

Hi everyone. I noticed today that one of my honeys has some chunks missing from her tail and spends a lot of time hiding at the bottom of the tank.. I think one of the other female honeys is responsible as the male just chases fish away from his corner then stops... although I haven’t actually witnessed any chasing or nipping from the other females..should I worry about this or should I just leave it alone?
Thanks!

Hi Dan, This can happen but it doesn't happen very often. Could you post a picture of all the Gourami as well as the tank they are in?
What else is in with them? I would also test the water to be on the safe side.
It depends on "how often she is chased, if she eats, how long you've had them, how long the behaviour has been going on" as to whether you need to do something. Could be that there is a bubble nest he is defending, and went further than he might do normally.

They’ve been in this tank for about a week but have all been together for about 3 weeks. It’s not too often she gets chased but if either of the other females spot her they will follow her with out properly chasing and the male will just chase away anyone who comes near his corner... can’t see a bubble nest up there... also in the tank are 11 cardinals...6 corys and about 8 amano shrimp... could do with a water change but the water parameters aren’t too drastic ammonia 0 , nitrite 0, nitrate 30-40

Thanks for the quick reply by the way
Last 2 pics aren’t that clear sorry!
Or is this a little bubble nest?

Sorry for the late reply this time =)
It sounds like nothing to worry about, as for the bubbles, maybe. Are they where he is hanging around? If that's the case then I would say likely.

Haha No problem! Yes they are up in the corner where he likes to hang around, cool I’ll keep an eye on it all but I only worry myself too much then. Thanks for the help
