55 Gallon Tank Honduran Red Point Hybrids?

I have a spawning pair of honduran red points. However, they spawn more than my convicts. Pretty scary stuff.

Since we know that HRP's and cons can interbreed, how do I know of my honduran red point parents are purebred or hybrids? Both species look quite similar.

The only way to know for sure would be to get them from a reputable breeder.
Lots have become mixed as they have become more popular.

But there are still lots of true ones around.

Well, in typical BB fashion, I got MORE HRP's at the auction from a reliable breeder. I'm growing them out in a second tank so I can compare. The possible hybrids create live food for my jaguar catfish and my other carnivores/omnivores so they're at least being productive.
