I was thinking about how to make homemade liquid fertilizer and thought can you just crush up root tabs and mix it into water? Would that work?
I wasn’t going to......... unless it worksNo.... just don't. It won't work like that.
You can purchase pps-pro ferts from GLA. Its dry ferts, comes with a bottle, you mix your own.
I purchased their dry ferts, was $15 for 3 1lb tubs of macros and 1 1lb tub of micros. The shipping was like $12
Alright thanks. I don’t really need any I was just wondering if it could work but I guess notYou can purchase pps-pro ferts from GLA. Its dry ferts, comes with a bottle, you mix your own.

It will be easier to just put the root tabs where the roots are. They are not designed to work in the water column. They are black sooty coal looking things.I wasn’t going to......... unless it works
Maybe you could with other things? But not root tabs specificallyAlright thanks. I don’t really need any I was just wondering if it could work but I guess not

It sounds like it would work in theory, but I’m sure other people understand the more realistic reasons why it wouldn’t. Something to do with the ingredients probably.
I used thrive C for a while until I realized it wasnt raising my nitrates and added too much phosphates to my water, both resulting in really bad Cyanobacteria. So I ordered some powdered potassium nitrate and added a cup to one gallon of water. The KNO3 raises my nitrates and adds potassium, then I just dose iron for the red plants. I have no issues just doing that, it was really cheap and I have a whole gallon of solution that raises my nitrates to 20ppm with just 5 mL. Making your own fertilizers is way better than buying premade mixes! It is cheaper in the long run and lasts forever, as well as being customizable. (Just in case you’re considering buying ferts)
