Hob problem

Hi
i brought a new hob filter that uses one foam block and one of those filter floss with carbon pads in it was working fine to start with then over night the carbon/floss pad clogged up which caused the emergency overflow to kick in then after removing the carbon/floss pad the flow went back to normal and stopped overflowing so should i change the carbon/floss out for bio media. So their would be mechanic from the foam block and biological on the bio media
many thanks

Buy an inexpensive mesh media bag & fill it with Fluval relacement ceramic media, or with a Fluval replacement sponge. Cut to size.

Or more sponge. Or a couple lava rocks. Or some pumice. Or a scrubby pad that you would use to scour pots and pans. You've got a lot of options, but most tanks don't need activated carbon most of the time.
