HOB Filter and Glass Canopy?

I’m considering adding a Marineland Penguin 350 or 200 HOB filter to my Marineland 75 gallon. This will be in addition to a Marineland 360 canister filter.

My question. . . Will these filters fit with the glass canopy on the tank if I remove the plastic strip on the back of the canopy? I’ve got jumpers and climbers!

Just trim back the plastic strip to make a hole for the filter, it just needs to be slightly larger then the filter.

Probably any HOB will fit just fine since you can remove/cut the plastic strip.

I might suggest the new gold standard in filters, the Seachem Tidal Filters for just some of the following advantages: Self priming w/submerged pump so it’s quiet and will always start after a power failure or maintenance, removable no spill media basket for easy cleaning and locks in place and won’t push up flooding your floor, variable flow control from 20-100% in 10% increments, built in skimmer, self cleaning impeller and comes with the best bio media, Seachem Matrix for nitrate reduction.

The Tidal 75 would be a good fit and with both filter gives you what you need for your total gph filtration.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses!

I was looking at the Seachem Tidal and preferred it over the Marineland Penguin given the different options like the adjustable flow. I just thought the Marineland was more likely to fit with the glass canopy.

I have a Tidal 110 on my 46 bowfront, and even it doesn't require that much space.
