Here's a photo of the tank. It's kinda in a mess right now but I'll clean it and rescape it when the fry are big enough
It's not a problem yet because they are just 1 month old. I will have to temporarily jar them in a month or two depends on when they start to show aggression.
The females will all be kept in the 40gal they are currently in except for a few if they show aggression. The aggresisve females and all the males will have to be temporarily jarred in either a 2l bottle or mason jar and daily water changes need to be done for evey jar which is quite a challenge
How old are they? Mine started colouring up at 2 and a half weeks old
They’re 4 weeks old today. I have 3 that are relatively big, the rest are still pretty small. No color that I’ve noticed. Still brown and white
Thanks! Once one started colouring up all of them will start very soon, you might wake ip tomorrow and almost most of them will have some colour

I wouldn't use the crowntail, IMO crowntails aren't the best looking fish and that other female has that nice pattern on her fins, I'd suggest her (in consideration that I don't really know much about their form and body shapes etc)
Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of crown tail either. They look... shredded. I like HM and double tail.
I have around 180 so I won't keep them all. I might keep around 20 and sell the rest I dony think my LFS will take them all so I will sell them to people
I have 3 baby Bettas a co worker gave me as she couldn't care for them. She got them at Petco.
You can never be exact because they might not have been fed properly or taken care of properly but id say around 2 months or 3
I couldn't get just 3 to play nice in a 75 gallon tank. Once I got 7 it was a much calmer tank. So I guess its the more the merrier.
I haven't actually tried a sorrority yet but I have heard from many people that their bettas kept getting aggressive when kept in pairs or groups of 3 but they were fine when they had 5 or more
I actually prefer to get mine from places like petco (I go to pet smart) because they keep them in clear containers next to each other. So basically what happens is they get use to seeing all these other fish right next to them... I have a community of male and female. I’ve had the best luck with petsmart Bettas being friendly. When adding any new fish my dominate male will flare at it and chase it but he never “fights” other fish. It also helps to have tons of places for them to hide, and hang out so they’re not bugging one another. My Betta fish like to swim at the bottom in the plants a lot.
Right. In the town over we have this “thrift store” the local animal shelter opened, to help with food and medical treatment and such. I figured with ones I can’t sell or my LFS won’t take, I’ll donate some to that store to help them raise money for the shelter. Closest pet stores where I live are literally a state over... in Indiana. Closest in state would be near st.louis which is too far of a drive. The only private owned (not a chain) store I have around only takes male Bettas. But, she gets a lot of her fish from local breeders. She’s also the only place anywhere that sells brine eggs, that she orders specifically for her local breeders.
I counted them and there's around 180, here's a photo (there were still like 50 of them in the aquarium so they don't shoe in the r photo) 
Same! I'm so excited and I hope we get some lovely kois. Feeding them one cube of those frozen lobster eggs isn't even enough for them anymore so I fed them a cube of that and a cube of bloodworms but I might need to add some more food. I'm feeding them twice a day now. Largest fry are at an inch in length but last week I didnt do a water change for a whole week so that must have slowed down their growth for sure.
Be careful not to overfeed with microworms because I've heard from people that their fry had missing ventral fins because of some bacteria in the worms or something idk but it could have been caused by microworms. I didn't do any research on that because I fed them BBS from day 4 up till around day 30 (started to introduce dry foods at around 20 days and started feeding frozen at around 35 when they started to accept flakes)
Mine are over 4 weeks and won’t even look at dry food, but like I said earlier most of them aren’t growing... it’s weird. Idk if it’s a genetic thing or what... that’s worth doing some research on though.
How often are you doing water changes? And to introduce dry foods I fed them their normal food and normal routine but added a tiny tiny amount of crushed flakes with every feeding. It took them over a week and it was so frustrating just seeing them spit out the flakes all the time but now they'll eat anything that can fit in their mouth
I do a 50 once a week and I use the air tubing to do cleanup once a week, and replace the water. The tank they’re in is fully cycled as well.
I'm meant to do waterchanges 3 times a week and change about 25% but I never actually get around to doing all 3. Most of mine had swim bladder issues too but just try to feed a little less BBS and they'll all be fine after a few days
They’re getting better than they were, some are swimming and such. I’ve read that feeding brine shrimp at first causes swim bladder issues. So I suspected it. The bigger ones seem fine now thouse, one kinda swims upright with its tail dragging though
