Anyone willing to share their hillstream loach setups.
ThanksGiving this a bump up for you hope you get some responses today
i unfortunately dont have a special set up but they live in high flow areas with a lot of smooth rocks that they can glide over and switch from rock to rock. if i were u i would have a long tank and put a strong pump at one end with all rocks and stuff imitating like a stream flowing down and u look in and u can see them fighting the current sidewaysThanks
thanks!!! the way i think of it is that they have adapted to captivity and i think they just evolved to survive where they lived and can live in very low flow waters so i have a low flow tank they r in and i think they r happy!!! although one of my hillstream loaches has a weird thingy where his mouth is swollen i think and his mouth is raised it doesnt touch the glass on the top. maybe u could help me? thats what it should be but his is raised. i will find better photos in a secondPeople either say that Hillstream Loaches need a very specific setup, or that they're undemanding fish. Not sure why there's two completely opposite camps. Anyway, Rachel O' Leary has a pretty cool 150 gallon Hillstream setup. I found a video where she shows it and describes a bit of how she set it up. Might give you some inspiration.

No offense not really looking for info very familiar with these fish as I have kept many over the years. I have also spawned them, I really just wanted to see other people's setups.i unfortunately dont have a special set up but they live in high flow areas with a lot of smooth rocks that they can glide over and switch from rock to rock. if i were u i would have a long tank and put a strong pump at one end with all rocks and stuff imitating like a stream flowing down and u look in and u can see them fighting the current sideways
