High Temperature is killing my fish!

I just lost my central air conditioning system. The water in my FOWLR tank peaked at almost 90° F. I've been keeping the water cool by taking out a few gallons of saltwater a through out the day and replacing with water that has been refrigerated for several hours. Before I started this régimen I lost my Dwarf Coral Beauty, my Firefish, and two blue green chromis. Any suggestions? I don't have 500 dollars for a chiller, just in case anyone wondered. I've had my tank for 151 days until now. I'm running a WON Brothers Protein Skimmer and a Penguin 350 Bio-Wheel HOB.

There are some good ideas that have been pointed out. I like the ideas concerning aeration, a fan, and using the lights as little as possible (a combination of all). Floating bottles of chilled water seems like it would save you time and money over changing the water. I would be careful about making temperature adjustments too quickly. Best of luck with your AC and tank situations

Hey, how's the tank going?

Just a note on aeration - in Saltwater this is not advised. The bubbles will likely form a nice foam at the surface

Your skimmer should be able to provide enough aeration/oxygen to your water

The floating ice idea can work, but be sure to cover the bottle with a freezer bag or similar to prevent any contaminants entering the tank. Too, I would advise placing in the sump if you have one. A word of caution: Ice can alter temperatures quite quickly, so you need to be very controlled, and slowly bring down the temp, and keep up the supply of ice.
