Hi just found this site and thought I wound say hi
I have only just started out in the hobby and know that there’s a lot to lean.
I have a 125 Litres Juwel Rio. To witch I Have added 2 female & 2 Male Cherry Barbs and I did have 4 male Guppy’s but they all die all within a week.
The last one this morning , so I’m going to leave the tank for a couple of weeks
To settle down before and any more fish Are guppy OK with Cherry Barbs

Thanks

it says caution with barbs and guppies. i'm sure someone with experience can tell you more and explain why? i'm afraid i dont know!!!

good luck with your fish

Hi all, this is all new to me aswell, there is loads of good info on this site, and i will certainly post any questions i have. I do have two 15 gal tanks, 1 has guppies & fry, the other has
tetras (neons & glowlights) 2 each. i guess you can say i have two new t.v's!!!!!!

Cherry barbs are in general very peaceful and need lots of plants to hide. The cherry barbs may not be whats happening to your guppys. Guppys can be a little sensitive and if the tank isn't cycled that could be whats happening to your guppys.
So giving the tank a little time to settle is a great idea.

Welcome! One can hardly resist the beauty of the cherry barb, especially a school of 6 or so. Provided they have places to dive to when alarmed and fed on good frozen tubifex or bloodworms every so often, these little charmers shouldn't morph into fin nippers. They will consume your guppy fry, given the chance, but the guppies will gobble up their eggs, too. Both speicies like lush plants, with open areas for swimming. Hope I helped-Guppygranny.
