Just want to say Hi. Haven't been on in awhile until recently. Thought I was going to be doing more travelling so I didn't replace my betta a couple years ago, but then Covid.....so a friend of mine was moving out of state and I adopted her new dragon scale betta. I named him Sebastian. I got out my 7g cube and reset it up and she gave me some of her media which was awesome. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the land plant that I can float in his tank? Hoping someone can remind me. Not pothos, it's something else.

He was in a tank with other fish before and has some missing scales on his nose, does anyone know if they'll grow back?

I've ordered some cherry shrimp to keep him entertained. My last betta did really well with them.
Bettas are my favorite fish. I had a 33g long heavily planted tank and had a sorority before I moved out west from the mid-west. I find I'm wishing I wouldn't have sold it now lol.

His fins are a tiny bit tattered in these pics but have already filled in with clear tissue in the week I've had him.

Is that live lucky bamboo in the corner? His tank looks lovely as does his fins filling in.
Not sure about the plant your trying to remember…maybe peace lily?
Maybe your thinking of hornwort. It can just float at the surface.
Oh I see it is live! Had to take another look. Can I ask where you got it? Order online, chain or LFS?

Welcome back. It is really good to see you again. :)

A couple of other plants I've have seen mentioned are Chinese Evergreen and Wandering Jew. Some folks have grown Sweet Potato. I tried this one. It grew beautifully for a while but then the potato started rotting and leaves started falling off so I had to remove it. Sure was pretty while it lasted though.

Yes it is, I just got it at my local pet store. No, not peace lily or hornwort. Hmm...

Hi, I remember you :) No, not those. It reminds me of a philodendron vine or something. Its a common houseplant and you wash the dirt off the roots and immerse them into the tank. The leaves float on the water. I have tried growing sweet potato in an old tank also. It will probably pop into my head at some point.

Just thought this might help you remember the plant you want to add. Or something new to try!

Hopefully it will. Once you do we will do a head slap and say "of course, that's it" :D

Hi Lucy, thanks. Yeah, well Covid squashed a lot of peoples plans! My husband just isn’t comfortable traveling with all of this going on. Gives me an excuse to start my fish hobby back up :)
