Hello! I'm new to this site! I wanted to ask some questions about African cichlids. I have a 55 gallon tank but I'm going to cycle, but my PH is very high and it's very hard to get it down so I thought I would go to African cichlids. I was wondering about how many I can have in a 55 gallon? thanks for your help!

Oh thank you too! I love fishkeeping! I don't really know... I just liked the ones at Petco.. Lol! They are all in the same tank.

The most you can do in a 55 gal is 12-14, two species with a male to female ratio of 1:5.
